Denoise

A vacuum for steady background hum.

Removes steady background noise: fan hum, AC hiss, computer whine. Right-click the audio clip and choose Denoise. It runs automatically and has no knobs.

Use it when first, on any vocal recorded at home.

Start here for vocals

  1. Right-click the vocal clip → Denoise.
  2. Listen to a quiet gap before and after to check the hiss is gone.

Too much? Listen for…

  • The voice sounds watery, metallic or “underwater”: undo it and record somewhere quieter next time (blankets and closets help).

Try it in 2 minutes

  1. Loop one line of your mains.
  2. Turn one knob all the way, then back. Hear what changed.
  3. Settle somewhere gentle.
  4. Click the power button to compare before and after, at the same volume.
